stranger am i
underneath

Photo by pedram ahmadi on Unsplash the peopling ages raw
meat hook hanging
— don't pretend to kiss me,
this savage morning hurts
let me dance the razor's edge
the deaf talk my broken digits
the blind point my way home
underneath, i weary stonetoll

Photo by Alla Kemelmakher on Unsplash how lonely the tolling of
the bell sans clapper
as come those mists of
yon forest valefireys
there are days i wish
i could be all fireys
and toss my head away
so that i could
get all chilly down
and think clearly
for just one dayunder star

to see what is ahead
a long and winding road
wending through forests

three crows callingAnother rune poem of mine, where the rune is selected at random. Today’s rune is ehwaz, which has a core meaning of “horse”. A horse is often associated with journeys, travel and movement. By extension, it also implies symbiosis with another living creature and loyalty, or trust.
daybreak sends

Photo by Pixabay on Pexels.com to quell all dreaming
long black snake riding
writhing at land's end
days i tire of thinking —
must be something more
just around the bend
pull over waysides
drinking travel mug brew
to stare at what daybreak
sendsdoor in the wood

Photo by Simon Wilkes on Unsplash — and yes i recall
the hill with the tree and
the door and the key
but i don't think it
will turn for me
anymore
— so who will remember
when the rain starts to fall
of that door in the wood
to let the ghost
of me in?consuming flame

Photo by Ville Palmu on Unsplash dirt under nails
cut ragged for
all the digging
leaving roots
bared to the sun
my lifeblood
flows these
seeking fingers
and i stare
wondering
where it has
all been drawn
wicker the dreams
at the man
caging flame
consume all
desires for ash
