Picture this, I said by way of gestures, and less of word:
dreamscapes & lemondrops
discomfitures & dollhouse memory
(i dress pretty one day)
over tea, biscuits, the telly
and her rye
(always, there is rye)
keepsake those now,
those nicotine bones,
those tar stained ivories
all in tow with the
mustperfumed gingham of a
silent generation
slipping to broken stone

Love the ending. It does feel lately we are a silent generation slipping to broken stone.
We’ll “WHATever” our way out of it. LOL.
That sums up our generation. Lots of irony.
I think, in a way, that we are the one generation who is completely prepared for what has been happening.
Haha! That’s perfect. Not to make light of what’s coming. But we’re jaded enough hopefully to handle it.
Paul Westerberg wrote “Shocking how nothing shocks anymore.” That was back in the late 80s.
Funny how that resonates even more now.
We may have taken irony a bit too far. 🤦♀️😊
Oh, this made me think of my grandmother. Really great imagery.
Good, I was hoping to catch someone’s grandmother in my net. 😉
