Half-penny thoughts — 28jan26

I feel like being more lighthearted today. Rather than write all kinds of serious words about my thinking on something, I am deciding to post a “just-for-fun” question to see if anyone is interested in a little mock game of truth or dare. Use one of the off-the-cuff examples below to answer my relatively absurd question, or come up with your own response. Please note, they are all not obviously standard responses to the question. Try to keep it in that spirit if you come up with something different.

Which is sexier in your mind?

  • A tome of dusty old words largely lost to the vagaries of time?
  • A score tucked into a sealed plaster wall from a dead composer that was never recognized for their genius?
  • Petals floating by on a slow-moving stream in a snow-covered landscape?
  • Poetry whispered into a dark room with an audience of one lonely ghost?
  • Fangs of a vampire resting on your skin, but not quite breaking it?
  • Or something entirely different from the above? Be creative, be nonstandard.

Just curious what folks decide and come up with/decide upon. There is absolutely no motive aside from that. The only condition is that it must actually appeal to you when you post in the comments if it isn’t one of those suggested.

Either admit one sounds appealing (Truth) or propose your own. If you Dare.

Hmm…for me there are two that stand out & particularly appeal.

Poetry whispered into a dark room with an audience of one lonely ghost?

Fangs of a vampire resting on your skin, but not quite breaking it?

Interesting….especially since you could quite easily combine them ✨️

Well, there you go! Perhaps you have the faded ghost of a vampire you promises to give you a release (you choose which), provided your poem is what they seek?

      Thanks for playing! 💙

Do either of those grab you as particularly sexier than the other? Why?

      Thanks for joining in.

Dare: a tree completely covered with light. Each branch outlined with a warm glow. Not those messy kinds that city workers throw together at Christmas. But one that you know was started in June. Each little bulb hugs the bark of the tree showing off its natural shape. The soft warm glow draws a smile on my face. A slight sigh escapes my lips as pull the car off to the side of the road to enjoy this painstakingly perfect process. While I know the person that did this, doesn’t know I’m alive. In that moment, it’s all mine. All for me.

Beautiful, Jolene. Your description actually reminds me of a place in the game I’m playing (but have not visited in years), where all of the trees are aglow similar to how you describe them. Not exactly the same, but evokes the same kind of feel for me.

        Thanks 💕

Looks like a cool game. Thanks for sharing.

            Thanks for the opportunity.

This one isn’t on your list either. 🤭 I know, I’m a stinker. I find salt and pepper hair on a man sexy. There are some men, as they age their hair is a beautiful white.

That ashen look on the right person, male or female can look great, especially if they use a bluing shampoo to tone out the yellows (whoops! my life as a former cosmetologist is showing like a slip from under a skirt! sorry!)

I’m going with: A score tucked into a sealed plaster wall from a dead composer that was never recognized for their genius. I think they just found a really short piece by Chopin.

    1. michael raven Avatar

Lol. Did he do stuff like that? Good choice.

I’m not sure the context. Where the score was/how found. But is was just a small piece. A few minutes long.

I’m afraid I can’t get enthusiastic about any of your suggestions, Michael – sorry. I’d prefer a bottle of wine and the company of certain male characters from my own books; there’s a reason I wrote them that way, after all …. 🙂

It was open ended, I was just trying to give a flavor. Thanks!

      1. lyndhurstlaura Avatar

It was a good idea. My ideas just aren’t that sophisticated! 😂

Probably the first one. Or… he leans in and whispers, “Don’t worry. I’ve got the helicopter money.”

      Oooh. Risky stuff!

    From your list…
Petals floating by on a slow-moving stream in a snow-covered landscape while a newly discovered score hidden by an unrecognized genius plays softly in the background. 🎶🥰

      💕 thanks Michele. That’s a great combo. Hope you’re doing well…

A creative list to choose from! Thank you for the thinking prompt. Doing fine, making it through the week. Very kind of you to say. 💛 And you?

        1. michael raven Avatar

Getting by. Hoping sleep finds me better than it has recently. 🥱

          1. Michele Lee Avatar

I hope that for you. It’s not yet 8 here and I’m ready for sleep. 😂

Waking up in the mountains by a lake completely alone with the wind whispering words that you can’t quite make out.

    1. michael raven Avatar

Strangely enough, it sounds like the wind knows your name…

      Thanks Chris

I like how you’ve put that. I must listen to it!

Floating on a bed of petals on a slow moving stream with fangs of a dusty old tome pressing into the skin of my neck while a ghost whispers poetry! Love this, Michael. Thank you.

💙 Thanks Stacey. I love what you did with it. It certainly captures a great image in my mind. I might need to find me one of those streams.
