holiday

overdone & unmoored
sent adrift & becalmed
uncertain of standing
or taken sitting down
wondering what was
done to deserve these
days

you're due for holiday
they say, but where do you go
when even going away
makes you feel like this
on these days

I know what you mean. I could use a holiday too. But is it enough?

Probably not. But hope springs eternal. 🙂

My daydream is that I have a rich aunt I’ve never heard of, and she leaves me enough money I don’t have to work anymore.

That would be fantastic. I wonder…

Cure, often worse than the sickness – I feel that. Moreso now with kids. (Whom I love dearly.)

There are certainly days that having kiddos complicates things, sometimes especially when taking time off.

Thanks for the comment, sorry that the spam filter swept you up and delayed its appearance.

True – though in fairness to my kids, worth it. 🙂 What’s a vacation? I’ve had bad times before kids, too.

        No worries!

You have to try it to see. I’m on holiday at present and it’s working, despite some initial reluctance. 😎

      🙂 I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself.

I hope the same for you. 🙂

Because the one place you can’t escape is yourself.
    Yep.

Yep. Except perhaps for copious quantities of potentially illicit substance and wanton promiscuity. Eventually, however, you remember enough to regret all the more for having taken that route. Usually.

      Some people, not so much.

Tends to make things worse for sure.

The balance has never been in my favor 🙂
