moon gazing

i have still not learned to
unexpect all the things
even the moon might
choose to hide shy
behind her pale veil
at least some of the times

impenetrable clouds
mar my view
i turn eyes from
skies to soil
to readjust anew

Perhaps sometimes the mystery of the party obscured is more attractive than the reality. The moon has her way of exerting her influence that’s for sure.
    Great piece.

Thanks, Chris. I wonder at the purpose and why we entertain our fantasies if the reality behind the scrim so often fails to match those notions. Perhaps we like playing games so much that we even play mindgames with ourselves?

And now, John Lennon is stuck in my head. There are worse things, I suppose…

Possibly (worse that is, I’m not a fan (of him or the Beatles…strike me down!))
Perhaps that is the very point of fantasies, to create something to mask reality and then, when its glamour fades, to create a new one. The alternative is perhaps too bleak to contemplate.

          Blaspheme! 😲

Actually, I find Beatles grate on me after a point. I like far less of their music than a fan would want me to like. I do prefer John’s songs over Paul’s, but sometimes he tests my patience. I ended up being more of a Doors kind of guy over the years. Perhaps because they were both cornier and grittier.

In other responses, I apparently like creating new fantasies, so you might have something there.

Ah, it’s the old ‘Beatles or Stones’ question. For me neither (if I were forced I’d go Stones) – always Floyd.
Fantasies? Let’s hope they keep coming!

Most definitely Floyd. Have you heard the Pompeii remaster album yet?

No, I’ve not had a listen as yet. I take it you’re impressed?

I haven’t done a direct comparison, but it sounds perhaps more balanced. There is the potential that it’s over compressed… That’s what they like to do in remastered audio these days, but what I heard at lower volumes sounded good. A little cleaned up and denoised.

            I’ll definitely tune in!
