of nimüe

of nimüe at the lake in gazing for

a reflection of her other selves

gazing in an unblemished return

for she wears these many faces

having become so many

she has lost her original view

so she waits and waits for fogs to burn

to see herself anew

Excellent take on this. I had to look up nimue. But it all makes sense now.

And reflective of our lives (and isn’t this, perhaps, one of the objectives of myths – to illustrate the truths of our lives?); we adopt so many faces until we reach the point at which we can no longer recognise our own reflection.

It makes one wonder if we ever see ourselves true or if it is only in facets.

You’re probably correct in your assumption.
