i am only winter
rags snapping crimson
of the hard north wind
i am only winter
and barren fells
a stone field within
i am only winter
fallow, hollow, brittle
don't let me in

And now I’m here, and able to comment! Weird.
Great piece, but too late as Winter is rooted in my already. And has been for many years.
Autumn’s in my blood, winter’s in my core.
Yesterday the site was slightly glitchy. I’m thinking I should have cleared the database cache after the backend updates I did over the past few days. That’s my guess anyway. I’ll do that when I get to my desktop.
Yet yearning for a spring that never came.
I’m just foolish enough to reserve judgment on if spring will come… 😅
Thanks for letting me know about the comment glitch. I had to rollback and re-update the plugin for Jetpack, which handles the comments (so they are viewable and interactable on the app for phones/web). I couldn’t get it to consistently work myself until I did that.
No worries – you’ve gone to a lot of effort to get your new site up; nothing is ever simple!
Ah, Spring. I think I was fifteen when it last hit.
And the automagic parts, they are now MY responsibility. I’m not sure who thought that was a great idea. Oh. Wait. That was me 😅
Spring at fifteen? Yeah, about there — maybe a few years later for me. I was a late developer.
Skipped straight to Autumn though.
That’s how it is for some of us, isn’t it?
Yep.
