Understandable. I’ve got the sound of crickets and a silver crescent.🌙
This neighbor is one of those classic obnoxious types. Snowblows a light dusting of snow at 11pm, has a ritual where he uses a leaf blower every day in the afternoon to clear off anything that might have gotten on his hardscape. Yells for his dogs at all hours…
It’s always a blessing when he isn’t around.
That sounds stressful and a neighbor like that would interfere with my work – workshops online and writing. I feel for you.
🙂
That sounds like an annoying neighbor. I prefer the sound of crickets.
He’s a little… Off. He does strange things that most people don’t consider to be acceptable behavior.
Hopefully it’s not too much of a burden.
Well, last night one of the other neighbors got into a yelling match with him about his unleashed dogs and excessive noise, so maybe something will change.
Without going into it too much, he could be gone really soon, or around for a while — he is living at his mother’s place after she passed away until the house can be sold. Unfortunately, her family can’t afford to let it go for less than a certain amount due to taxes and liens (credit issues b/c she was a compulsive Etsy buyer compounding the problem) and the family refuses to list the house because it would mean losing that percentage to a real estate agent, thinking they can sell it by owner using a sign in the yard. Except that no one seems to have noticed that the “permanent” marker on the sign has washed away, leaving a blur instead of contact information.
Not only are they asking far too much for the house, but her son is in no hurry to fix the sign because he’ll be out of a place to live for free. And he’s got a history of potential mental issues where he probably should not be living on his own. He does not comprehend boundaries real well or at all.
What you’ve just listed sounds like a real shit show. Just the idea of selling a house on our own. Unless you have experience, seems like you’re just out to wring the most money out of someone. Which is usually just a sing of short shortsightedness. Good luck and hopefully this works itself out soon.
Yeah, that was pretty much my thought: you can’t afford to sell the house without at least a listing somewhere. So you need to at least give up a couple of percentage points if you hope to sell. Drive-by shopping for homes died thirty or more years ago.
Yes. As did leave a for sale sign on your car parked on the front lawn.
