    Some people find their escape going on exotic vacations to exotic places. Some people go out drinking and carousing with their mates. Some people watch paint dry.

    Me? I tend to lean into music or videogames when I need to escape.

  • September reads and doings

    I’ve been devoting more time to reading books and attempting new hobbies in my effort to reduce the amount of content I consume from the internet.

    Since the beginning of September, I have read six novels and abandoned one novel after a record 30 pages (I couldn’t take the convenient miracles any longer, they were that obvious and that poorly written). The month has a few days yet and I am working on two more books. There is always a chance I’ll make it through my seventh, but I wouldn’t count on it.

    Six books is not huge, but it is a positive effort away from social media and news that, let’s just say, feels like a low-quality circus right about now.

  • Clair Obscur impressions

    Time permitting, which is not as often as you might think, I’ve been settling down and started playing a recently released game called Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

    In a day and age where games either seem just, in general, overpriced at $70 for some AAA titles which are often bug-filled things with uninspired gameplay, I do tend to sit up and pay attention when the rumors go around that an AA title comes out from an up-and-coming studio that tries to do something different from the the copy-pasted games out there for less than $50.
