'the weather is changing,
i can feel it in my joints',
sounded so cliche & quaint
until it became a song i sang
for my own
have you ever just sat with
your pain? talk to it?
embrace it? hold it?
sometimes you can
befriend your pain as
thunder rumbles through—
thunder rumbles through

You know, I wholeheartedly agree with this, Michael. We’re conditioned to fight our suffering, whether through soldiering on, complaining or seeking help, but, actually, I think it is better to go in, face your pain, accept it and, with time, make it your friend.
Fine words.
With chronic pain, I think it is better to try and make peace your with it. If you need a mediator, then by all means get a mediator. But if you can negotiate an uneasy truce, then that is probably the best one can hope for with chronic pain.
