we're all lost boys
living in a purgatory
of our own make
dreaming
cardboard fantasies
of tin foil swords &
steel-painted armors —
a princess eager
behind a veil of thorns
we still boast song & glory
in a mead hall of ruins
shoes sticking to
ale-washed floors
slipstream still,
i sit between
shifting throngs & smiles
wondering what lies
all lost boys, we
will tell now
all lost boys

I really like the line ‘slipstream still’.

Thank you. I was trying to capture that feel similar to those music videos where the person is sitting still while the world moves madly around them in a blur.

Well done.

Such vivid imagery. It made me think of Valhalla, but through the lens of a child. Perpetual feasting and adventuring. I do think we all crave something as simple as that. A clear win.

I think what it all boils down to is that most of us wish we could be heroes.

Beautifully crafted poem….made the song “Lost Boy” by Ruth B pop in my head…..totally gotta go listen to it now 🤣

Thanks C. 💕
I haven’t heard that song before. Appreciate the mention. It’s nice to be forced outside my comfort zone a wee bit now and again.
