to say of storm river
to heart of ghost tree
to lichen of dreaming
i guess it's better
this way
all heads burn frenzy
all arms give of wave
to eyes brambled ocean
i guess it's better
this way
better,
this way
better this way

Sometimes I think that’s my mantra, but then I get too stuck in “it would be better this way.” Suppose I should listen to the lichen.

Sometimes, I wonder if we shouldn’t practice radical acceptance…

Should, but can we? I try, but damn, my own imperfections and the world just pulls me from it. Lately I’ve had some new physical struggles and it’s hard to accept and heal at the same time. I balance the push to be better with the need to accept what I can’t change. What I don’t want to do is give up or surrender. There’s a fine line between acceptance and surrender…well…there’s my poem today!

I know what you mean. Hopefully you can overcome your current challenges. ❤️
I don’t see surrender as the same as acceptance, but there is indeed a fine line between the two. I think we need to be aware that sometimes embracing our challenges is the best way to overcome them, if that makes any sense at all.
