words are the most
valued treasures i have
so i scatter them like
chaff on stonefield winds
A poem prompted by a randomly selected Elder Futhark rune.
Today’s rune is fehu, which has a core meaning of “cattle” or a more generalized “livestock”, which was a representation of personal wealth or earned prosperity. Sometimes luck played a role. Wealth and prosperity was valued, but was looked down upon when material accumulation appeared to be excessive, greedy, miserly or turned to hoarding, especially when those around you were lacking.
Please visit my Elder Futhark pages at sceadugenga.com for additional interpretations of the runes based on multiple references and personal reflection.

Excellent!
Thanks, Bob.
As it should be. And wait and hope for the seeds to grow.
If they will, they will. 😊
Only the strong survive. (A little Too Short there for ya.)
I had to look it up because the reference was lost on my poor little grey matter. LOL.
I didn’t really think you were a West Coast Rap dude.
Grew up around OG rap playing on a daily basis. Never developed a taste for the stuff post-80s.
Great song though. And Menace II Society is a great movie.
Was that where it’s from? I think I saw the first one, but I might be confusing it with New Jack City or Colors. It was so long ago and I was there more because of the company than the movie 😏
Menace II Society was 1993, a little after those two but still in that vein of films about inner city violence. It was the Hughes Brothers first film and Jada Pinkett’s first acting role. Good movie for that genre.
I probably missed that one then. 😊
