Sometimes dreams are just dreams. I get it — if all of our dreams were always meaningful, insightful and future-seeing, we’d put all of the oneiromancers out there out of business. Or give them panic attacks when we call them in to join us in the dreaming to help interpret and…
Whatever.
But there are dreams and the are Dreams. The proper noun versions demand you pay attention to their contents, which the other ones might linger on the fringes of memory until the morning fog burns off (if your lucky). And that’s only if they are particularly good or bad.
But those Dreams that linger into the evening, or for several days, months? Even decades? Those are the kind that I strongly suspect have some lessons or information contained within their bounds. Maybe they are not future seeing, or full of an understanding that makes you slap your forehead in sudden awareness as you sit up in your bed at 3 am.
But sometimes they are those kinds of Dreams. Or maybe other things. Or maybe much, much more.
I have those kinds of Dreams fairly regularly — anywhere from several a week to a handful a year. If you’ve had a Dream before, you know it as something quite unlike a standard dream.
I’ve had a few Dreams over the past month. This isn’t atypical for me, but I have no idea how often something like that happens for others. If you’ve have Dreams (as opposed to dreams), how often do you have such Dreams? And what kind of Dreams are they if you do have them.
Feel free to share as much or as little as you want in the comments. I’m curious about your experiences.

I used to have dreams on a regular basis two or three recurring themes of which I could out the meaning. Some circumstances have changed and I must feel more secure, because I’ve stopped having those. Nowadays I rarely dream, and if I do it’s a fragile fragment of nonsense that I can barely hang onto even as it’s occurring. All very strange; my mind taking out the garbage? 😐
That seems likely. Not everyone can or needs to have profound or lucid dreaming. Some of us have a higher frequency of the stuff than others. Who knows the reason?
And maybe that’s all dreams are, taking out the garbage.
I wouldn’t like to guess at it. I just know that I’m happier without them than with them – garbage dumped? 🙂
I had more Dreams of that kind when I was younger. I still get them but they are rarer now – once a year maybe as mine are mostly related to things that are going to happen. Since directly communicating with the Gods They tend to give me info while I’m awake now….unless I am being particularly obtuse 😅 Spirit guides & those passed on come to me occasionally.
I have lots of my normal dreams – it’s always annoying to wake up having dreamed you’d just finished the laundry. What a waste of a dream woman 🤣
Interesting, I haven’t stopped or slowed down being an intense Dreamer. In anything, I go through spurts of Dreaming (I also maintain conversations with the spirits in waking moments, at least when they are in the mood, so I know what you mean).
Oh, the work dreams just before waking up to go to… work… talk about a waste. 😂
Sadly they occur rarely these days. It’s always good to get that sense that you are actually living the moment, no matter how weird or disturbing it might seem. On waking It’s almost like you’re still there, if only for a moment.
My dreams can be pretty strange. For example, early this morning I dreamt my son came into my room and asked, “Mom, what are you doing?” I replied, “Sleeping. You should be too.” He said “Okay” and went back to his room. It felt so real, but it was just a dream. It actually woke me up, and when I checked the clock, it was time for his medication. He was still fast asleep in his bed. I had forgotten to set my phone alarm, but somehow my subconscious reminded me through that dream to wake up and give him his medicine.
I can relate. I have one of those internal alarm clocks that rarely forgets to “go off”. It has driven folks I know a bit bonkers because I can use it to powernap to my advantage. It served me well when I was at one school in my early adulthood and liked to stay up late — I would powernap outside during our 15-minute breaks and STILL get a smoke in walking back to the building for class. Without an alarm.
Those dreams like the one you described are always helpful. 😊
