nightwash

a path in the middle of a dark forest

underwater flowing
over silt and stone
rub skin, stream wash
rub mud, you and me
make land, this flesh
make river, this blood
rub wash, stream skin
rub silt, me and you

can't you hear them crying?
can't you hear their scream?
flesh and blood and silt and stream
spirits in the night—

I am taking a short break from blogging and have scheduled a few older poems to fill up the empty spaces in the interim.

Great first stanza, one of my favorites of yours

Thanks! I know poetry is not your thing, so that’s high praise. 😉

My understanding is limited but growing. I can always be moved!

          Funnel theory !

If you pour enough in the funnel something’s got to get through to the tone deaf guy?

It’s complicated. One of these days I might bore you to death with my oversimplified model of a funnel related to writing. If you’re lucky, my senility will kick in and I’ll forget to.

You may regret those words. 🤣
