going back to the real
hands smudged black
and dirt under nails
gravel yellow crush
i listen at forests for
wisdom crowing loud
leave to crowds where
crowds are wont to go

enough of deaf gods mute
i am not what they need

left to wending paths
through silent sentinels
gone to follow the call

Thank you, Michele. This was recorded with a mobile device and then underwent some minor edits in Audacity (normalization, moving title/author from end to front, noise reduction and reverb).

I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much. πŸ’™

You’re welcome and thank you for sharing a bit of the process. I haven’t recorded anything in a while. Missing that. Your poetry lends itself to the spoken word. Thank you! πŸ’›πŸ‘πŸ»

Thank you Raven. It was a fun little production for when I had fifteen or so minutes of just hanging out. I’ll have to do more of these.

I loved the reading. And the second stanza is fantastic. I enjoyed this very much.

I appreciate it Bob. Thank you. It’s great to know that second stanza resonates with someone other than myself. Glad you liked it.
