with a head full of thistle &
hands stained of woad
skating away over water to
while away a spell
with the acorn man
you probably
would not understand
that has become a given
over these near
twin scored years
and so it comes to
wander this wodewood alone
chatting with oaks
in the blackthorn
with a head full of thistle &
hands stained of woad

I had to look up woad. But I loved this. Wandering those woods, seems like the perfect summer activity.
Yeah, woad is a little esoteric. I collect weird words 🙂
Don’t know when I’ll get around to hitting the forest this season. Busy as usual…
this acorn man! what a figure. now that i’ve noticed this presence, I imagine I’ll see him around
You may! Who knows what words he’ll share with us?
: )
Sounds inviting. It reminds me of Scotland. Creative writing, Michael. 💜
Thank you. Scotland is one of those places I need to return to when I’m not on someone else’s schedule. I could spend days in Edinburgh, just wandering around the area by the castle. I loved that part of the city.
On your own schedule would be ideal. I feel that way about Glasgow, having limited time there. I did love every place visited. 👍🏻
I could probably spend a month in Scotland and not get bored. I considered going to Glasgow for my forensics education. And that was before my trip to Edinburgh 😉
We discover, learn, and grow. 😊
