like wild horses
before the storm
here comes the
turning away
we have heard all
those plots before and
i am caring less
what your gods
have to say
i unbind knots
that blind stained eyes
and give over to both
the bone and the stone
crashing down
like a waterfall
when comes the
turning away

Have a good walkabout, sir! I will await your return.
Thank you. I have airport boredom ahead. Likely more doggerel ahead.
Can’t wait. I write good in airports and on airplanes. Can’t do shit anywhere else on vacation. Nor should you, if you don’t want.
I may and I may not. I’ll be driving most of the time, which will cut into any writing I might do. As always, I tend to let it happen or not on its own. And there is the kvetching with my companion before hitting the hay as well. 🙂
Just out of curiosity, do you know which song Westerberg was talking about when he said “I’m in love with that song?” It’s easily findable on Wikipedia. I was a little stunned by how good it is.
I never worried too much about it, honestly. I’ll have to take a gander at it when I am able. Thanks for the suggestion
I could tell you but I’ll just let you search if you want to. Could just be my rabbit hole, and I don’t know your feelings on Big Star. I’m guessing you’re a fan of Alex Chilton, at least through his production work with the Cramps and his guitar on “Pleased to Meet Me.” And Kanga Roo certainly seems right up your alley, as well as the covers by This Mortal Coil. Anyhoo . . . have a great road trip!!
So far so good
Fantastic. The second stanza really stands out for me.
Thank you Bob 🙂
